Art KS4

At the end of KS3 pupils can choose to take Art and Design at GCSE level. Art is a very popular choice for many, and they pursue the AQA qualification with wither the Fine Art  or 3D Art endorsement.

This GCSE allows for progression from Key Stage 3 and provides students with the freedom to learn GCSE Art and Design in ways that inspire and bring out the best in them, whilst equipping them with the skills to continue the subject with confidence at AS, A-level and beyond.

To support this progression, the assessment objectives, structure and titles are very similar to those detailed in the AS and A-level Art and Design specification.

Portfolio projects, assignments or briefs can be open-ended or more narrowly focused. There is no restriction on the choice of media, scale or format that students use to reflect and evidence their submissions.

Art Club: The department runs enrichment every day for both KS3 and KS4 students.

We attend exhibitions and also partake in trips to enhance the students understanding of their work.

We have workshops and visiting artists working with the students during the GCSE course.
